Have your privacy and confidentiality protected in accordance with HIPAA
Review your records and request corrections as permitted by law
Receive services free from abuse, neglect, or exploitation
Refuse or withdraw from services at any time, to the extent permitted by law and insurance requirements
Be informed of any risks, benefits, and alternatives to treatment
Receive culturally responsive and trauma-informed care
Ask questions and receive clear, understandable answers

Caregivers and legal guardians have the right to:
Be actively involved in treatment planning and progress updates
Receive training and support related to their child’s goals and behavior strategies
Request meetings to discuss concerns or progress
Be informed of any changes to services, staffing, or recommendations
Receive clear communication regarding scheduling, attendance, and expectations
🤝 Client & Caregiver Responsibilities
To support effective treatment, we ask that clients and caregivers:
Participate in scheduled sessions and communicate cancellations in advance
Engage in treatment planning and caregiver training as recommended
Provide accurate and up-to-date information relevant to services
Follow clinic policies regarding attendance, safety, and communication
Support the generalization of skills across home and community settings when appropriate
🔐 Confidentiality & Privacy
Behavior Speaks ABA protects the confidentiality of all client information in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and applicable state laws.
Information will only be shared with authorized individuals or entities as permitted by law or with appropriate consent.
⚠️ Concerns, Complaints, & Grievances
We encourage open communication and strive to resolve concerns promptly and respectfully.
If you have a concern or complaint regarding services:
Contact Behavior Speaks ABA directly so we can work toward a resolution
If concerns are not resolved, you may file a complaint with appropriate regulatory agencies, including:Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS)
Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS)
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights
We will not retaliate against any individual for filing a complaint.
🛑 Right to Refuse or Discontinue Services
Clients and caregivers have the right to refuse or discontinue services at any time. Behavior Speaks ABA will support transition planning and provide recommendations when appropriate to ensure continuity of care.

Services are initiated only after informed consent is obtained. Clients and caregivers have the right to ask questions, request clarification, and withdraw consent at any time.
